2018 MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

2018 MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS Supporting Membership SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP is intended for engineers, officials, sales representatives, interested individuals, etc. and entitles them to receive NHWWA journals, NHWWA newsletters, meeting notices and attend meetings. Supporting Members cannot vote on NHWWA policies. The Supporting Membership application must accompany the $70.00 annual membership dues. Thereafter, dues are billed annually after November 1st (the beginning of our fiscal year). Utility Membership UTILITY MEMBERSHIP is held by NH water department personnel and water system personnel. It entitles the water department or water system to receive the journals, newsletters, meeting and all training notices and have a voting privilege. The Utility Membership application must accompany the annual membership dues. Thereafter, dues are billed annually after November 1st (the beginning of our fiscal year). Small Systems Membership SMALL SYSTEMS MEMBERSHIP for very small non-municipal community water systems serving less than 100 people. The $30.00 annual membership enables operators & owners to attend all our events at the membership price.

2018 NHWWA Drinking Water System Operator Basics Course

An Introductory Course for New Drinking Water System Operators

WHEN: Held for 10 consecutive Wednesday mornings starting January 10, 2018 and ending March 14, 2018. Classes are held from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, a make-up session will be held on the Thursday immediately following the cancelled class. WHERE: Concord Water Treatment Plant, 53 Hutchins Street, Concord, NH. CREDIT: 30 TCH’s will be awarded to those who complete the entire course. COST: $500 for NHWWA members | $550 for non-members. Registration fee includes the textbook, worksheets, handouts. A calculator is needed for the math classes. Registrations must be received by Friday, January 5, 2018. Registrations received after Friday, January 5, 2018 will be subject to a $25 late fee. Cancellations must be received by Friday, January 5, 2018 for a refund. Registration fees are non-refundable after Friday, January 5, 2018 but can be applied to a future event or training. No refunds or credits will be issued for no shows. SPACE IS LIMITED! The course is limited to the first 25 registered and paid. COURSE OUTLINE This course is designed to help attendees prepare for the Grade 1 Treatment and Distribution Certification Examinations. Mathematics and general biology, chemistry, physics, geology, hydrology, engineering and other basic science concepts are integrated with the fundamentals of operating and managing a public water system. The course outline is a summary of the main concepts that will be covered in each class. The topics and schedule are subject to change. Additional reading will be assigned for each class. There will be a weekly quiz in class followed by a review of the answers. Each class will also include a recap of important water works vocabulary. SPRING 2018 SMALL PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM OPERATOR GRADE 1A TRAINING COURSE (New Operator Training) March 13, 15, 20 and 22, 5-8 PM Hands-on Pump Station Training field day and an Optional Math Review Classes Held at: DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES BUILDING 29 HAZEN DRIVE CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE with the field day in Franklin, NH

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Drinking Water & Groundwater Bureau, in conjunction with the New Hampshire Water Works Association, is offering this educational course for owners, operators and other persons currently involved in, or looking to become involved in, the management and operation of small public drinking water systems. The course is designed to provide fundamentals on the theory and practical knowledge required to maintain and operate a small public water system. The course is specifically geared toward individuals interested in becoming certified water works operators in the State of New Hampshire. No prior experience is required. The course consists of four required classes to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. in Concord, N.H., and one required daytime visit to an operational water works pump station in Franklin, N.H. An optional session for the drinking water math review will also be offered. There is a course fee includes the course textbook and handouts. Be sure to bring a notebook, a pencil and a calculator to each class. Ten training contact hours (10 TCHs) will be awarded upon completion of the course. Partial credit is not given for partial attendance.
